Friday, september 18, 2015. Kronos marries rhea and has 5 children (the olympians) Zeus + olympian brothers and sisters vs kronos. Styx came to zeus side because he recruited her. He promised powers and an official domain if zeus was victorious. Hundred handers help him by throwing rocks and overpowering kronos and his allies. After the titanomachy, zeus is faced with another battle against typhoeus (monstreous creature from tarturus and gaia) which he needs to defeat in order to keep the rule over. The myth shows a different pattern because typhoeus is not zeus child but tries to dethrone him just like zeus did to kronos. Gaia creates this monster against zeus for many reasons: reduce his power, take revenge on his acts upon her children (enclosing titans in the underworld), etc. His first wife is metis (translated to wisdom/ good council/ cleverness. His official first wife is hera, his sister. He has 115 female consorts over his lifetime.
