Power theory: powerful people have stronger deviant motivation the more money and power you have, you are more inclined to do stupid things and take risks (high rates of stimulation social, physical, emotional). They"re misguided because they aren"t held accountable for anything. Look at the problem differently, rather than what causes it they are interested in what causes conformity. If everybody complies with rules and you don"t you"re considered deviant (you may be excluded). You play ball by these rules they will look after you (follow the law). Accept freud"s idea think that it is condition because they assume people are naturally inclined to do deviant acts (social control over the induvial). Beliefs are treated as words that mean nothing (deviants rationalize their behaviour) Develop theories and approach the problem head on.
