Group dynamics differ depending on the number of people involved: solomon asch conformity studies (1956) Likelihood of us behaving in a certain way depending on the people we were in a group with. People are more likely to conform to group consensus relative to the size of the group. Dyad (two-person group) vs. triad (three-person group: dyad if one leaves, the group is over. Dynamic: one against one: triad if one leaves, the group continues. Dynamic: two against one; majority opinion vs negotiation. The group/collective has characteristics/properties that are more than the sum of individuals: groups have distinctive properties above & beyond individual characteristics.
