You have to travel to get authenic culture. Culture is the way of a paricular people, period and place. 4 characterisics: culture is learned- created and learned all over again it"s an on-going cycle, culture is rooted in symbols- language. Displacement: culture is shared- corporaion, elements are bound by the subculture. Culture can be examined at a range of scales. Materialisic approach to culture that avoids error ethnocentrism . The only way to get people to stop raising them is to ban it- make consumpion a sin. 2 assumpions: humans are unique in that they produce needs and wants, g. The way people live makes how they are not what they have. Condiions of existence establishes what we want or have. Stepping on the litle people to get to the top.
