Mesopotamia was open for invasion and had many diff cities and prominent. Was considered fertile land in the middle of the dessert. Mixture of blood sacrificed from god and clay. This goes to show humans are mixture of something. Distinct aspect b/w ancient religious beliefs and the mesopotamian view which is very close to early biblical views. Egyptians were so preoccupied with the preparation for death, we can see this with mummies. Bodies were mummified so it would be there for all of eternity. Meso"s was that human life was all pleasure, goodness, respect, honor, meaning and everything like that resides in human life. Diff views b/w the make up of the person. Egyptians understanding was complex whereas the meso"s believe upon death the clay becomes bones and the god part becomes a ghost, a shadowy kind of person. The ghost is the continuing but dead aspect of the person.
