Dsm: essential feature = pattern of pervasive distrust & suspiciousness of others such that their motives interpreted as malevolent. Individuals w/ this disorder will assume that other ppl will exploit, harm, or deceive them, even if no evidence exists to support this expectation. They suspect on basis of little or no evidence that others plotting against them & may attack them suddenly, at any time & w/o reason.
