Financial: barring access to their own funds and other resources. Aggression is considered short term effort to harm someone. Exposure to parental violence: kind of like second hand smoke effect. Those who view parental abuse are more likely to comit it in the future or be victims of it. Indiiviudal: unemployment, anger issues, mental health, substance abuse. What are the excuses used by the abuser for lashing out. If the behaviour we do is reinforced, we continue that behaviour. The higher the status of the person you are modelling your behaviour to, the more impactful their behaviour will be. 3 cats of factors: instigators, regulators and origin (where is the behaviour occurring?) Instigators: triggers and cues that make you engage in certain behaviour. When people are overwhelmed their attentional focus narrows and information processing isn"t great. Family only: not violent in other avenues of life. Most of the time abused stay after incident of abuse.
