Level 1 sexual assault: involves minor physical injuries or no injury to the victim. Level 2 sexual assault: involves a weapon, threats, or bodily harm. Level 3 (aggravated sexual assault): results in wounding, maiming, disfiguring or endangering the life of a victim. Sexual interference: indirectly or directly touching for a sexual purpose with a part of the body or with an object, any part of the body of a person under the age of 16. 2 ways to measure scope of sexual offending: 3,800 sexual violations against children (3% increase since 2010) 98% of all persons charged with sexual level 1 assault, child pornography and sexual violations against children were male: most sexual assaults were level i offences.
