Massive amount of literature on sex offenders its disproportionate on the offenders. This is because of interest and general concern from the public. Even though you are more likely as a victim to be victimized by someone you know as a sexual offence. Prevalence (based on crimes to define violent offenders) 23% of charges in adult court are violent (about 12% if common assault & weapons excluded) Common assault is less serious than weapons and possession. Robbery (up for debate some only include armed robbery) Criminal harassment (stalking/breech of no contact orders elevated risk) Male, caucasian, aged 30-39, in medium security (where most people fall more beds there) Serving a 4-5 year sentence for robbery. No high school diploma, poor employment history. Think about a one off person who commits a robbery and a person so commits more than one crime. Canada is in the middle for homicide rates in selected countries.
