Document Summary
You are motivated enough to come to class and take notes. Several theories have been proposed to explain human motivation: instincts theories. According to this theory, instincts motivate human behaviors. An instinct is a genetically determined disposition to behave in a very specific way when a specific stimulus is present. Everything we did was instinct and the theory became bloated. And they said this person is jogging because of the instinct of jogging, it is circular and made no sense. The idea that genes are important to explain human behaviors remained important and popular: drives and incentives. Drives: according to drives we have basic biological needs that must be met. We have the need for food, water, sex and so on. According to this theory when the needs are not satisfied people will be frustrated and because it is uncomfortable we are motivated to take action to reduce the tension.
