Societies are marked by a problem of scare resources: we don"t have enough resources to equally distribute with everyone in that society, we need a society (system of cooperation) Social justice entails the concept of political morality. However, the fundamental concept is of legal morality. When we talk about justice and rights, we talk about equality: triangle of relation. The focal point for this relationship is legality/rule of law: to better understand their [triangle] status, we have to take into account legality. Fundamental idea of this type of social justice: free and equal citizenship and equality of the person. It is difficult to talk about social justice without talking about human rights. Waldren: the human right against not being tortured is non-negotiable: came out after 9/11 bush government and military torturing individuals overseas. Talks about the rule of law and arbitrary power/tyranny.
