The purpose of this lab is to determine the probability that the production process will produce knobs with acceptable dimensions (cid:523)(cid:883)(cid:885)7(cid:499) to (cid:883)(cid:886)(cid:885)(cid:499)(cid:524). The sample data are provided in the (cid:498)production record. Statistics are calculated both by hand and excel, the results are used to decide whether the production process is adequate to produce knobs within the tolerance for the application. The sample data of knob size are provided in a production record sheet. The same statistics were also calculated by excel. Next, with the help of random number generation function in excel, a random set of normally distributed data (45 numbers) is generated by using the sample mean and the sample standard. The last three digits of my student number (736) were used as the random seed variable. After that, same statistics are needed to be calculate in the excel as previous.
