Document Summary

Pseudo-environment: the place in which people react to those. The real environment is the world; the real world that exists all around us, but that"s not how we understand the world. The world around us is too complex for us to understand. We are not smart enough to understand all of the world around us, despite how well we feel we understand it. The world around us has to constantly be explored, reported and imagined. Our evolution has led to a creature focused on its own survival. Lippmann is presenting a picture in our heads for us to understand the world; trying to construct an image in our heads as to how the human mind works. In order for us to comprehend and contend with the world around us, we gradually make for ourselves a trustworthy picture inside of our heads of the world beyond our reach.
