By seeing suffering through these tragedies we are liberated from negative feelings. Tragedy was an institution of civic/political education citizens look at mythological characters on stage and reflects on themselves. Learn more since there is no personal stake in these plays. Innovator of tragic form added a 3rd actor. Wrote 120 plays (we think) we only have 7 left. Won first prize at the greater dionysia about 20 times; never came in last.
