Document Summary

I am going to start by explain some of the key features of the anatomy between the pubic bone and the tail bone (align diagram with body). This is a diagram of what we call the pelvic cavity (align diagram with body). The pelvic cavity can be divided into three main categories front, becomes the tailbone, there is not bone below these organs. This is designed primarily so that during middle, back. In the front or anterior cavity is the bladder and urethra (the bladder stores urine that is filtered through the kidneys, and the urethra allows us to pass urine). The middle cavity contains the uterus and vagina (during pregnancy the baby is essentially stored in the urethra, and then passes through the vagina during birth). The back cavity contains the rectum and the anal canal (the rectum stores feces until you are ready to defecate, whereby it passes through the anal canal).
