I believe that the director could have prevented this situation with kristi by not rushing her into the job so quickly. I believe that the program s orientation also could have helped by explaining how the staff and employees within the program interact with one another and how the program operates. I do not think that there is a way to screen for direct and untactful applicants, unfortunately. It would be much easier on directors and on the other staff members if there was, however, it is not something that you can really be made aware of beforehand. The experienced teachers could have handled the situation differently. I also do not think it was appropriate for two teachers to threaten to resign in the middle of the year due to kristi because that in turn only hurts the children at the program.
