Really not a good determination of how people act. All are used to predict how certain people will act. Annual surveys of the us population asks various questions. Interviews usually open end and offer a chance for participant to talk about the meanings they attach to something. However, sociologists may spend more time researching a particular subject--looking for themes and patterns. You immerse yourself in some group to find out who their group works. Used to build a theory about the social world. Compartive research compares two cases and see why one outcome varied.
