Document Summary

I have a tendency to most consistently fall for the nonverbal communication myth that you can tell if someone is lying by closely observing nonverbal behavior. A great example of this would be about one year ago, for my nineteenth birthday. I truly believed that my parents were going to get me a car for my birthday. I had been working since i was fifteen, paid for my own cell phone and bills, and was currently driving an eleven-year-old truck. I knew that they felt bad and saw that i was taking initiative to be a responsible daughter and alleviate any unnecessary expenses from them. I confronted my mom about possible birthday presents multiple times, and each time i tried, based on every crime show and movie i had ever seen, to find a tell tale. I studied her face and her body movements, but no effort given prevailed.
