Social exchange theory is a theory that is based off of the amount. I work with the same people every weekend at one of my jobs, and of rewards and costs that are exchanged between two people in a relationship. In this theory, rewards can be defined as the satisfactory things that are exchanged in a relationship, and costs can be defined as the things exchanged in a relationship that hinder one, or both, people involved in the relationship. I use social exchange theory in virtually all of my relationships-family, friends, coworkers, etc. there is one girl who i don"t particularly care to work with. Because i"ve been working there for two years, she has taken the assumption that i can handle all of the responsibilities in putting signage out every morning on my own. When she first began working there, i put all of my effort into training her.
