I think that people are more willing to disclose private information through computer-mediated communication (cmc). Good enough responses because they don"t have to respond right away. However, i favor social presence theory, which describes the psychological closeness that is felt in face-to-face interactions. I like to be able to communicate with a person face- to-face because i feel that it brings me closer to them and provided better communication exchange. I don"t have any computer-only relationships because of the media richness theory. I like to have a lot of face-to-face interactions because that seems more genuine to me. I am more likely to meet up with a friend throughout the week than regularly text him or her because meeting face-to-face offers the richest communication channel, versus texting being low in richness. I disclose any information that any of my friends and family wishes to know about me because i don"t have any secrets from my loved ones.
