Prenatal period: conception-birth: 9 months of pregnancy, germinal stage. 1st stage of prenatal development first 2 weeks-link b/w mom and baby forms: embryonic stage. 2nd stage of development from 2 weeks to the end of 2nd month. Emotions in response to stress: impact prenatal development: vulnerability to disease. Maternal nutrition=very important: malnutrition: risk of birth complication and neurological deficits.
