Important things: prenatal development begins with fertilization and ends with birth, lasting 266 days (38 weeks) from conception. It can be dived in to three periods: germinal, the period of prenatal period that takes place in the first 2 weeks after conception. Inner layer of cells: will develop into the digestive and respiratory systems, mesoderm. Is the middle layer of cells: will develop into the circulatory system, bones, muscles, excretory system, and reproductive system, ectoderm. Those in the early stages of pregnancy as well as couples who are anticipating may participate in early prenatal pregnancy. These sessions emphasize empowering women to play an active role in experiencing a positive pregnancy: potential hazards to prenatal development, teratogen. A research review concluded that tobacco concluded that tobacco is a key contributor to intrauterine (within the womb) growth retardation.
