Most new research questions originate from3 sources: theories, previous research, practical problems. Function of theories is to help researchers ask new questions. One way is by making prediction based on a theory. If the findings are consistent with the prediction, the theory is supported and new predictions may lead to new research or else it may be modified. So findings of a single study do not constitute proof of one form of practice is superior over 10 other forms.
