Intelligence involves the ability to learn and the ability to meet the demands of the environment effectively. Intelligence also includes the ability to understand and control one"s mental activities. Statistical method for determining whether different items on a test correlate highly w one another. -thus forming a unified set or cluster of items. People who do well on vocab items also tend to do well on verbal items ex reading comprehension. Said some people have a particular strength in one area or another. However those who score high on one cluster tend to score high on others as well. A bright child tends to score higher on all aspects of an intelligence test than a dull one . Hypostesized that general (g) factor of intelligence underlies all distinct clusters of mental ability.
