ENGD80H3 Chapter Notes - Chapter 4: Institute For Operations Research And The Management Sciences
Document Summary
Organizational policy, social-cultural conditions of schools, districts and communities. The article unpacks various implementation perspectives, analyses, and processes, and explores how some of them may not be as effective as others due to certain socio- economic factors in the community. This relates to dr. jaafar and dr. anderson"s article regarding accountability because it raises the issue of who is held accountable if certain policies are not adhered to. The article informs my learning in the program because i get a scholarly perspective of the steps taken in order to implement policies, who is involved, and policy makers" priorities and considerations. Although parents are mentioned in the article, we do not get their perspectives in relation to involvement and participation in educational practices or implementation is missing. This perspective shifts the focus of analysis away from institutions and institutional goals to individuals and individual incentives, beliefs, and capacity. Organizations don"t innovate or implement change, individuals do.
