Food and community are connected - food is used as a way to connect with people. We eat things made in the soil, we eat it and it goes back into soil as compost - if soil is healthy then we are healthy. We have lost food biodiversity as we have become industrialized. Market is dominated by few varieties of foods which loses biodiversity which loses contact with heritage and foods. Also causes loss of food security and exposure to disease. Farmers markets maintain biodiversity and have multiple types of fresh foods. Food is tested to ensure is tastes good and is safe and then the seeds of that food are saved to plant again - if not then it is discarded. Soil and plant on one end, human on other ends. Going from biology to industry is tricky - can allow chemicals. Foods are edible species which is best for our bodies - biological evolution.
