Ppl automatically engage in neural mechanisms associated with self-control of emotions: right lpfc regulates neg affect associated with threatening or conflict- related signals. Sex dif found also in children and adults. Not a self-reporting bias: seen by observation. Suggest that evolutionary pressures caused these sex differences. Magnitude of difference influenced by culture, so socialization also plays a role.
