Impossible to achieve big population and too many policy issue: republic = any state without a monarchy/head of state, true democracy. Initiatives and referendums not in texas, but western states have. Initiative people petition to have a vote for a specific topic. You need money: forms of political participation, voting, talking about politics, organizations, attending public meetings, contributions money. May contribute to members of both political parties (if the race is close) so that members of either party may help them if they get into office: communicating with representatives, campaigning. Seeking public office: difficulties in public opinion polls, public opinion polls have lots of error and are probably not a truly accurate measure, self-reported information the respondent will tell their opinion and/or politic party. Their opinions may not truly line up with the party they side with. B. ii: reliability and validity, bias and response. Interviewer bias who is asking they question.
