I liked this essay prompt because it allowed me to analyze an advertisement that i have a connection with. I think this prompt had a lot of freedom which i also enjoyed because it gave me the freedom to write about something i was interested in rather than something i do not have much interest in. I think that this prompt has helped me as a writer to stay focused on a single topic and explain in detail certain aspects and perspectives. Where in other prompts, i normally get lost in my writing and keep expanding on different ideas, like a wheel. I think i did well on stating how this advertisement was incredulous and i also believe that i explained my feelings and other people"s feelings in a clear and concise way. I think i struggled most with putting myself in another person"s shoes and imagining how they would feel and react to this statement made.

I also realized while reading Emerson's essay that one should not yield oneself to other people who wish to control them and take from us our power. This gives that individual power which can stunt one's growth in spirit, my mind and body. We should look and strive to be different never desiring to be like others for we are who we are. We are human in our own right.
