Every building or portion of classification is that some building uses are more hazardous than others. Uniform building code (ubc) is used in the western/central portion of the us. Boca national building code is used in the northeastern part of the us. Standard building code (sbc) is used in much of the southeastern us. International building code (ibc) is a consolidation of the 3 model building codes. Model building codes- field, without reference to any particular geographical area. There are three model building codes used in most of the united states: bring uniformity to code practices across the country and eventually replace the 3 other model codes.
