Matters of life and death induce a temporary emotional hijacking: the first thought that you have to something is going to be an emotional one, what you can control after that is how you react. When something generates a prolonged emotional reaction in you, is called a trigger event . Iq, eq, and on how smart someone is. It comes from developing a straightforward and honest understanding of what makes you tick. People high in self-awareness are clear in their understanding of what they do well, what motivates and satisfies them, and which people and situations push their buttons: self-management is what happens when you act or do not act. It is the ability to use your awareness of your emotions to stay flexible and direct your behavior positively, this means managing your emotional reactions to situations and people.
