Remember that there are many environmental stories in the news, so some of these may provide good examples of some of the issues below. Exponential and logistic growth rates what they mean, how they"d look on a graph. Carrying capacity: definition, factors that influence it (environmental resistance), effect on growth curve. Global trends in population growth rates (including regional differences), reasons for those trends (including religious, social values), and environmental implications of those trends. Important demographic terms: fertility rate, doubling time, zero population growth. Biomes definition and in-depth information on one biome, either marine or terrestrial. Be able to give an example with location, key physical and biological characteristics, and current environmental issues (including climate change, endangered species) relating to that ecosystem.
