Document Summary

I believe that in order to understand the african american experience it is essential to take a interdisciplinary approach. When one tries to understand why there is so much racial tension in american between whites and black, one must look deeper at the historical relationship that led to this tension. It was europeans that stripped away every natural right that. Blacks had in order to profit from their work. This process affected blacks in america in more than one way. A entire entity on individuals were cut off from their homeland, their traditions, languages, religions, and were beaten into submission. One could never grasp why so many slaves, at one point in history, simply accepted their condition and became complacent without understanding historically the psychological mechanisms that were instilled to change the ways. For example, many blacks are criticized for their complacency in poverty and their living off the system and simply producing babies.
