Elements offset each other creating harmony. composition mirror image: emphasis- stressing an area of a composition to draw the viewer"s attention, radial balance- radiating outward from center or focus, subordination. Creates neutral areas of lesser interest that keep us from being distracted from the areas of emphasis. Symmetrical and asymmetrical balance: proportion- refers to the sizes and shapes of objects in artwork. Has to do with relationships of parts to the whole: scale- the size relation of one thing to another.
