The quiz will consist of multiple choice and short answer essay. Children"s literature: it is defined as written material for entertainment or information for young children. Young adult literature: the focus of these books are intended for age groups 12-18 years old. Character (protagonists and antagonists) main, supporting, protagonists, Chapter book: a story intended for intermediate readers, generally 7-10 years old. Picture book: have a unique format that is defined by words and illustrations rather than text. Picture books come in many forms, shapes, and sizes, such a board books, toy books, pop-up books, and storybooks. Illustrated book: illustrations depict characters" actions, expressions, and dispositions and create and capture emotions such as humor, happiness, or sadness. Usually completed during or after book and integrates art, music, writing. (important to activate prior knowledge) Plot the action of the story, usually consisting of a beginning, rising action, climax, and falling action or resolution.
