• Before the Korean war, the United States was having trouble with eastern europe which
was now dominated by the Soviet Union, and did not want to go fully to war with China.
Dean Acheson advised Truman to watch China and Russia’s own truce slowly
disintegrate. This would happen because both communist leaders thought of themselves
as the true leader of all communism. As
