Triangle (sternberg: passion- desire, intensity, intimacy- sharing feelings, emotional state, commitment- long term, empty love- sticking it out for children. Hookups: normative: 70, sexual contact, on average, men and women have higher positive emotions after a hookup (82% & 57%). Adults sexual behaviors and attitudes are not like those depicted in popular media. Americans don"t have sex as often as tv personalities. Sexual partners tend to be alike in many ways, age, education and ethnicity: differences in tv are interesting. Meet in conventional ways through social networks, social media: tv meet in strange ways, earthquake, elevator. Only 1/3 of 18-59 yr olds have intercourse as often as twice a week.
