Which dance form ruled the dance floors of america at the beginning of the 20th century: waltz- 19th century, 2/3 of the dances men were in charge, women followed (resembled at home) Why was the waltz such a controversial dance: scandalous dancing, required close dancing. Understand the changes brought about by the boston: last elements of court dancing, removed necessity for lessons lessons were becoming foreign, no turnout, 4 steps instead of 2 steps, did not move around the room.
