Microsociology is concerned with the interactions, exchanges and choices of people as affected by the social context in which the occur. The approach in sociology is often referred to as social psychology and draws upon two theoretical perspectives within this broad approach: choice and symbolic interaction. The macrosociological approach is concerned with the discovery of structure within the society as a whole, the examination of large scale relationships in society, of the relationships among the structures within the society.
