Another interesting point made by rand is how morality is man"s enemy. Nothing can be gained from morality; something can only be lost by its presence. The only hope is that through this concept, others will give up what benefits them to benefit others, and the individual being that other. However, this will lead to a definite bitterness between the involved individuals. No one wants to give up something they like to help someone else. People will do it, but in the end, no one truly wants to give it up. There is just a sense of guilt pushing them to do it. Making the privacy of one"s selfish life immoral. No doctrine could be more evil than that. Rand compares mental and physical health as almost being one and the same. Both are concerned with man"s survival and well-being.
