What should the role of the emergency department be? (as opposed to what it currently is. ) The emergency department got quite a much of it roles that it should be getting, however, there are still few roles that the emergency department is missing there. Because most of the physicians in the emergency department don"t just listen to the patients" problems rather they just get frustrated if the patients trying to explain their problems as my own experience says it. The another role that the emergency department should be responsible is don"t make the patients wait in the waiting room, specifically the one with really sick conditions. Rather they should be taken a great care until their turn comes up. Because the overcrowding in the ed issues is not as easy as it seen. This also benefits the other patients in the er because it decreases the mortality of other patients.
