Document Summary

Morality leads to the construction of our beliefs about right and wrong, bad person or character. The culture and the society we live in have an important influence on the ways we are brought up especially when it comes to the nourishing of our beliefs by determining what is socially wrong and right. Moral relativism is the belief that moral standards are directly related to what the individuals or cultures believe. When the moral relativism is related to the cultures, it is called as cultural relativism. According to this, an action is morally right or wrong if it is endorsed or condemned by a culture. It asserts the beliefs we hold, are best understood by grasping them to the cultural context of the place. Whenever it comes to moral issues, there are always found black and white lines where certain actions can be seen universally right or wrong. In cultural relativism, there is no universal right and wrong.
