It is an assumption of technology to be an autonomous derivative of science. Technologists need more than just scientific knowledge,they tend to rely on various other aspects which would only imply that there are multiple relations of science and technology and not just a one way relation. Therefore the linear model happens to be proved wrong. Technological determinism is assumed to be the primary force that causes social and organizational changes. Technological changes force social adaptions and also result in various changes in the political, economic aspects and consequently constrain the trajectories of history. The working class structure being determined by dominant technologies depicts that technology shapes economic choices and through those shape history. A single technology can be used for more than one purpose. Also the path or the trajectory of the technology becomes quite uncertain once introduced in a society than what their inventors predict and desire. So the consequences might vary of an intended technological improvement.
