Behaviour - observable activities of an organism, often in response to environmental cues. This was process of observing mental processes early on. Goals of studying mental processes and behaviours include: Description: psychologists need to describe very specifically the things that they observe. Explanation: telling what, where, when and how is sometimes not enough. Researchers will try to understand the causes of behaviours/mental processes. Prediction: psychologists seek to predict circumstances under which behaviours and mental processes are likely to occur.
