Document Summary

Locomotion, which is the movement of particles between it. Intracellular anchor, which assists with cell-to-cell or cell-to-matrix interactions. Cytoskeleton is also involved in mitosis, the cytoskeleton is what breaks apart into fragment and organelles and provide a barrier for each separating cell. There are 3 parts that make up the cytoskeleton: microfilaments, intermediate filaments, microtubules. Microfilaments maintain cell shape and are made of actin, in cytoplasm and eukaryotic cells. Microfilament is lengthened at one end and is being shortened at other end so almost like it"s moving inside of the cell. Myosin can walk along actin filament, and this causes movement of filaments relevant to one another. Atp is what causes the movements of the muscle and myosin. Intermediate filaments are involved with more permanent structures and have variable composition (keratin, lamin) In intermediate structures, proteins form a helicase structure with an intermediate filament monomer. The thicker the cables, the more permanent they are.
