Ideal images vs. reality of family life: ex: how thanksgiving really is vs. the pretty picture that thanksgiving paints about the ideal family gathering. Agency records: ex: cas, shows a very limited record because cas handles cases where issues are present in the home. Video of the week: the sociology of families & households. Structure: unit: whole, pets, blood, marriage, adoption, military (living together, sharing the same experiences, coworkers (getting support, talking things through, teammates (depending on amount of interaction, fraternity/student house, nursing homes, group homes. Universal traditional nuclear family: many variations in family structure, ex: single parent families (technically=lone parent family)
