Law is multifaced and has been around for centuries, there are any different characteristics of it. Rules specify how people should behave, contain definition of terms and much more. There are different types of rules, such as the ones that belong to: religion, etiquette, special organisations. Legal rules are enforced by particular organs of the state, and they have specific sanctions if not respected such as incarceration, the paying of a fine, compensation of damage, etc. , while sanctions for non-legal rules are less specific. The positive law is a law which has been created by means of legislation or juridical decisions. These laws give legal certainty, therefore, it"s usually unnecessary to invoke authorities. Certainty that the law will be applied consistently. (similar cases treated in similar ways). Present day law was the outcome of a historical development in which the sources of law play an important role.
