Two major contribution to law: legal system are man made, social creation, law various in terms of the culture and where it is. He was the first person that said that we cannot understand law until we could see it being played in life. If a law was unjust then it was no longer a law at all. Something isn"t just then its not a law. Rule of law requires justice and fairness. Laws that try to take away from others then its unjust. Law and morality are distict- there is no necessart connection between them. The idea of greater good for the greater number. Opposed to the idea of natural law, The idea that law is made my the government, Believed that you had a set of procedural rules in order to become a law, for example how a bill gets accepted. He wanted international law but it was complicated because it lacked a soverign.
