Purpose: financial services businesses don"t produce money, only government has the right to print bank notes or mint coins. Businesses in the financial services industry help individuals, governments, businesses and not-for-profit organizations find money. At one time or other, you have had to raise capital. The raising of capital is important because the individual responsible for finance is typically 1/2 or 1/3 most senior and influential people in any organization. This simple story includes all of the key issues that concern finance. An individual or an organization wants to proceed with a project. An estimate needs to be made of the project"s cost. The project must be evaluated and prioritizes against alternative projects. If the capital is available the organization can proceed.
