Environment: sum of the surroundings, all biotic and abiotic components in which we interact. Environmental science: the study of how our natural world works, and the relationship we have with it (effects we have on it) Resource management: planning on how to use the resource in such a way that we protect and preserve it. Stock is the portion of the resource that we can use (harvestable portion) The base cause of environmental degradation: problems are due to population growth and increased consumption, caused by general ignorance. Environmentalist: biased person who cares a shit ton about the world. Environmental scientist: normal person who cares about the processes of the natural world. Cornucopia- horn of plenty: progress trap, we will never run out of resources because we have technology to save our asses. Cassandras- all is lost because of our environmental impact.
